HALLOWEEN 2023
For Halloween 2023, we hosted a small contest featuring original works by our friend Thomas Segaud from the Glass Sabbath studio: unique, small blown-glass pumpkins infused with the special magic of this celebration of the uncanny—evoking the distinctive visual style of Tim Burton’s films!
Meet the Artist: Thomas Segaud, Glassblower at Glass Sabbath
In the realm of traditional craftsmanship, there are artisans whose exceptional talent and boundless creativity transform ordinary materials into extraordinary works of art. Among them is the glassblower—a skilled and passionate craftsman who has mastered the delicate art of shaping molten glass to create magnificent, unique pieces.

The glassblower is a meticulous artisan who upholds a unique, historic craft—skills inherited from a long tradition passed down through the centuries and honed by years of experience.
Using a furnace, he heats the glass to extremely high temperatures, rendering it fluid and malleable. With incredible dexterity, he shapes the glass by blowing air through the blowpipe, creating elegant and harmonious forms.
Every movement is precise, every breath is calculated, and the result is a unique work of art born of the day's inspiration.
What sets the glassblower apart is the ability to transform imagination into reality. Whether crafting a delicately detailed vase, a spectacular light fixture, or even an abstract sculpture, the glassblower uses their talent to bring ideas to life. Experimenting with shapes, colors, and textures, they create unique pieces that captivate the eye and stir the soul.
Each of the glassblower’s creations is far more than a mere decorative object; it is an expression of emotion and a reflection of the artisan’s talent and passion. Every piece tells a story, captures a moment of inspiration, and conveys a unique energy to the observer. Whether adorning a modern interior or serving as a gift, the glassblower’s creations bring a touch of elegance and authenticity to any space.
This October, Thomas Segaud drew inspiration from the traditional Halloween holiday! The result was these three little pumpkins. Congratulations to the three lucky winners! They now have a piece of Thomas’s creative work—and the emotion behind it—to display in their homes.
"His passion for glass was born when he was 17—a sort of love at first sight, sparked by the deafening roar of the melting furnaces and a material that seemed to erupt from the flames of hell."
It is with pleasure and pride that we have supported and sponsored this artist for years. Our thanks go to him for this collaboration!
