CRISIX
Following the crossover collaboration earlier this year with the excellent French band Benighted—featuring artwork by Grindesign—we’re back at it this autumn with a tank top and cap from the Spanish thrash metal band Crisix!
Crisix is a Spanish quintet whose style could be defined as "old-school crossover thrash metal with a powerful, highly technical, modern sound"!
Originally named Crysys, the band formed in February 2008 and made a name for themselves in 2009 by winning the international final of the WOA Metal Battle in Germany. This victory earned them the chance to record their debut album, *The Menace*, at Germany’s Stage One Studio, as well as an international distribution deal with Wacken Records and a European tour.
Fun fact: in 2010, Sony forced the band to change their name to Crisix due to its similarity to their famous video game, *Crysis*. It was under this new name that they recorded their second album, *Rise… Then Rest*. The album was produced at Barcelona’s Moontower Studio by Javi Félez (Graveyard) and mixed by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel) at his Mana Recordings studio (Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Agnostic Front, etc.) in Florida. The record reached number 63 on the Spanish sales charts. They followed up with the albums *From Blue to Black* (2016) and *Against the Odds* (2018), cementing their success and the enthusiasm of their fanbase. But to truly appreciate Crisix, you have to see them live—and as luck would have it, they’re hitting the road again this winter!
Good to know: the band will be touring Europe from the end of this year through to the autumn of 2021.
