SAVAGE LANDS

SAVAGE LANDS

A massive obstacle in the path of deforestation!

"The only real way to protect nature is to leave it alone—to designate sanctuaries as untouchable spaces. We organize high-impact, compelling initiatives to engage brands, public figures, and individuals in funding reforestation efforts in Costa Rica. Coming from the worlds of music, live performance, and action sports, we have a passion for action, showmanship, and connecting with the public."

The Savage Lands preservation strategy consists of reforesting, designating as protected areas, and certifying wild lands.

For those of us living far from old-growth forests, getting involved in preserving these unique and fragile environments is not always an obvious or immediate priority; yet, it is worth remembering that biodiversity is a primary reason for safeguarding forests, as they harbor a vast array of plant and animal species—many found nowhere else on Earth. They provide vital habitats for endangered species and serve as seed banks for future generations of trees.

Furthermore, forests are crucial for regulating the Earth's climate and provide a wide range of ecosystem services, such as water regulation and soil conservation. They also serve as important sources of food, medicine, and other resources for human populations, particularly Indigenous communities.

Their preservation is therefore essential, and where they have been destroyed, restoring them is paramount for ecosystem protection.

Driven by these convictions, the initiators of the SAVAGE LANDS project have launched a campaign to safeguard forests and keep them in their wild state, particularly in Costa Rica.

The approach involves funding effective, respected local NGOs—through sponsorship and/or crowdfunding—to purchase land and carry out sustainable reforestation.

To ensure these lands can regenerate sustainably, they must be designated as protected sanctuaries by local authorities; this prevents the establishment of polluting, destructive industries and instead fosters a virtuous, environmentally respectful economic model.

These actions take time and a lot of energy, but the results can be spectacular! In just a few years, purchasing land and transforming it into protected natural sanctuaries allows for reforestation and the return of large numbers of local flora and fauna, thus creating an "exemplary green zone."

SAVAGE LANDS, an innovative and inspiring project, has received numerous endorsements from artists, particularly in the Rock & Metal music scene, who now form the "Army of Trees" (see the Hall of Fame on the website Savagelands.org)…

Who are the initiators of the Savage Lands project?

Project initiatives

Dunable Guitars

Renowned Californian luthier Sacha Dunable crafted a unique boutique guitar from a naturally fallen Guanacaste tree. The wood was donated by Donato, owner of Lola’s in Avellanas, and prepared by Sergio.

This guitar will be played on stage by famous metal bands, then raffled off to fund reforestation and the creation of green spaces in Costa Rica.

Supergroup and VIPs on missions

A group of world-renowned artists from various bands will join forces to bring this project to life and create a unique musical composition.

All proceeds from the sale of this track will go directly toward reforestation and land acquisition.

A music festival could also be a great opportunity to raise funds and draw attention to the cause in Costa Rica…

We are leveraging the names and profiles of famous figures to achieve faster results. Because it is URGENT! The first to say yes were musicians from the international metal scene.

The movement we launched is now gaining notice, and other artists and organizations are joining us because they want to take action!

Seminars

Costa Rica serves as a symbol that enables Savage Lands to reach a wider audience.

Local laws also facilitate many of its initiatives, which can then yield successful results and help motivate people.

Something that will, hopefully, inspire the entire world!

Why Costa Rica?

Because local legislation supports our efforts. Because it is still possible to act without clashing with major financial conglomerates. Because Costa Rica serves as a symbol and an inspiration to others.
