INK FACTORY III
International Tattoo Convention
We attended the 3rd edition of THE INK FACTORY—Lyon’s international tattoo convention—which hosts over 200 tattoo artists from 25 countries for three days each year at the former Fagor factory complex.
It was our first convention outing since the two years of lockdowns, and it was a real pleasure to rediscover sensations we’d almost forgotten—like setting up the booth and getting splinters in our fingers! Standing for hours on end and feeling the soles of our feet ache with exhaustion! But above all, seeing friends we hadn’t seen in far too long—that felt truly great.
It was also an opportunity for us to showcase our decorative items—such as art prints, skateboards, and canvases—as well as our new product lines and exclusive releases, like the Freegun boxer short collaboration.
We were also able to play an active role in the daily tattoo artist competitions by taking part in the awards ceremony for the winners. Congratulations to Laurent Zucca for winning the Best Ornamental award!
As for the entertainment, we enjoyed performances by professional BMX world champion Raphael Chiquet, as well as shows by Fred Kyrel and Mère Dragon. There were also numerous concerts—including sets by our friends IN ARKADIA and LOFOFORA, who really set the venue on fire on Saturday night!
Tattoo artists in attendance included: TIN-TIN, HORISHIGE, Laurent ZUCCA, Dimo BOYCHEV, Julien THIBERS, Marine ISHIGO, John MAXX, David RODUIT, LEON, Lolie KIWI, Sophie HEDON, Rung & Matthieu DUQUENOIS, Stéphane BUENO, Tuan NGUYEN, Alex DUPUIS, Javier OBREGON, Dusty DUZA, Niko NERDO, Pavel Epik KALOYANOV, Tibo WILDHANDS… And many others—there were over 200 of them this year! This edition also raised €7,000 through an auction benefiting the Williams France association, which supports research into Williams-Beuren syndrome.
A huge thank you to the artists who participated and generously donated their work, and to the buyers who made such a fantastic result possible.
